AI chatbot – Rex
This website provides an optional public AI chatbot called Rex. Rex supplies general information about The Driscoll, authorised booking options, nearby places and the operation of the home’s features.
When you use Rex, your message and relevant recent conversation context are transmitted through the AI Engine WordPress plugin to OpenAI to generate a response. OpenAI may process this information outside Australia, including in the United States.
Do not enter names, contact details, payment information, booking references, health information, Wi-Fi passwords, access codes, entry instructions or other personal, confidential or sensitive information into Rex.
Rex cannot accept or confirm bookings, take payments, retrieve booking records, send booking-platform messages, control devices or provide confidential property-access information. Rex may interpret The Driscoll’s public availability feed and current indicative nightly rates. These are not a final guest price or booking confirmation; final availability, pricing, fees, cancellation terms and confirmation must be verified on the authorised booking platform. Rex’s responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may be incomplete or inaccurate.
AI Engine’s server-side Discussions feature is disabled. Conversation state may be stored locally within the visitor’s browser to maintain the current conversation.
OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default. OpenAI’s retention periods depend on the API features and settings used. Abuse-monitoring logs may include messages and responses and are normally retained for up to 30 days, with exceptions for legal requirements and preventing harm. Some API features store information separately under different retention rules.

The service may receive search terms, appliance or device descriptions, displayed error text, proposed stay dates, guest counts and the intended booking platform. Do not submit names, contact details, payment information, booking references, health information, Wi-Fi passwords, access codes, entry instructions or other personal, confidential or sensitive information.
The service does not accept or confirm bookings, take payments, retrieve private reservation or guest records, send messages, reveal access information, or control or reconfigure property devices. Availability and any nightly rates returned by the service are indicative only and must be verified on an authorised booking platform.
The external AI provider or software selected by the user may process the user’s request under its own privacy policy before sending a tool request to The Driscoll. The Driscoll does not control that external service’s privacy or retention practices. The website’s hosting and security services may process standard technical request information, such as IP address, timestamp, requested endpoint, request headers, response status and security events, for operation, protection and troubleshooting.
